The Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill serves as advisor to the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina (System) on matters pertaining to the Chapel Hill campus. The Board also advises the Chancellor on the management and development of the university at Chapel Hill. Records include minutes of meetings of the Board of Trustees, 1972-2011; meeting files, 1972-1999, which contain documents related to issues discussed at meetings but not recorded in the official minutes; and committee files, 1979-1980 and 1987-1988, which include records of the search committees responsible for identifying potential successors to Chancellors Taylor and Fordham.
